Laser Hair Removal and Skin Tightening Procedure

I suppose it’s wintertime. For most Michiganders that means layering the clothing, snuggling under blankets, and basically sitting inside most of the time and trying every way to keep warm. You know what helps keep the body warm? Hair. Think about it 90% of body heat comes from your head. With that said, like most women, I don’t feel it a priority to shave my legs, at least, every day or even every other day; it’s more like once a week to be perfectly honest. I don’t see the point since I’m wearing pants all the time anyway.

I really just dislike shaving in general, especially my armpits. C’mon, everyday shaving gets extremely tedious. Plus, if you cut yourself in the underarm, it burns every time I put on deodorant. I’ve been researching the option of Laser Hair Removal treatment. I’ve even spoken with friends’ mom’s who have had the procedure done before to see the perks (or cons) of it. So far, I see no cons, unless one sees time commitment as a con, which really isn’t a commitment in the first place. I’d say a 15 minute session over a length of time, depending on how much hair you have. Being Hungarian, I definitely have a lot of unwanted, dark hair. It would be worth it in the name of ‘no more shaving’. When technically looking at the definition of laser hair removal, it sounds almost invasive to have a high-intensity laser penetrate my skin, but the results (never shaving again) would be ideal and bonus, there is no recovery time.

I am still young, but it’s good to know there are options in laser treatment as I age. Laser facial rejuvenation I would say is best for my fair-skinned friends. I have olive skin so I do have some sunspots on my face and wouldn’t mind an even skin tone, even now. Acne scarring can be the worst when it’s on your face. As a kid I was told to not cross my legs as to avoid spider veins, little did I know. I should have listened. Lasers work in that realm too.

I may only be 22, but at age 18 I started to notice cellulite develop on my upper thighs. Being a competitive gymnast since age 8, I built a lot of muscle and kept building until high school ended. Going from working out everyday to not even at all, I lost a lot of muscle in my legs especially. Luckily I don’t even have to leave town to receive anti-cellulite treatment, though.

How to Choose a Auto Body Shop When You Have Been Involved in an Accident – Valuable Information

When you have had the unfortunate event of being in a automotive collision, the last thing you need is to have a bad experience with an auto body shop not doing their job. A good auto body shop will fix your car back to pre-loss condition, both in appearance and in structural and mechanical integrity. A great auto body shop will almost make you feel like the accident never happened. They should start with customer service better then you get at a good restaurant. They should ask if everyone was OK after the accident, generally, they should be more interested in your needs and concerns then their own profit margins. The sad thing is there are many body shops that are just in it for a quick buck and do not have the customer skills or even the repair skills to do the job you, or your insurance company, is paying for. So how do you weed those shops out?

I have been in this industry for over 25 years in the same area, I have worked in high quality auto body shops large and small, and have owned my own collision and custom shop in Portland Oregon for the last 8 years. In my area there are hundreds of auto body repair shops in a very small area, yet I only know a few I would trust with my vehicles. So for the most part you have to be as informed as you can, and ask a lot of questions.

I am going to give you some information about the industry that will hopefully help to make that informed decision a little easier. First, do not let your insurance company tell you where to have your vehicle repaired, in most cases they have contracts with the shop to save them money in exchange for sending them your vehicle. in this case the insurance company saves money, the shop gets the work but has to cut corners to keep the cost down for the insurance company. And you, the one that pays the insurance company all those inflated premiums, and pays the body shop your deductible gets a substandard repair. The insurance company may say “if you don’t take the job to our repair shop we can’t guaranty the work”, the fact is any and all good auto body shops guaranty their work for as long as you own your car, if they don’t, go somewhere else.

Next thing to do is be sure to question the person who is estimating your damage, smaller shop owners will usually take care of you personally, and in most cases, actually be involved in the repair process. In most of the larger or chain shops the person writing the estimate on how to fix your vehicle is a salesperson, usually having absolutely no experience repairing cars, not to say that the techs working at that shop wont fix your car correctly, but they may just not feel like rewriting the estimate the way it should of been written to begin with. Just be aware and ask the questions. Also small shops may not have all the fancy lasers and computer operated equipment of a large shop, Then again lasers and computers don’t fix cars in most cases they are sales tools and rarely used. Even a frame rack although necessary is nothing more then a few well placed trees, they don’t fix cars, the tech is the most important part of the repair.

Ask if the body shop is on any insurance programs or DRP,(direct repair programs) if they are ask why? the only reason I know why a auto body shop would agree to be on a DRP would be to get work that they couldn’t get on their own. Again this does not mean just because they have a DRP they are not a great shop, but if they have 20 DRP’s then I would be a little concerned? Ask them to explain.

And by far the best resource for finding a good body shop is word of mouth, a friend that’s had work done and is happy to let you know about the auto body shop he had good luck with is a good sign they were treated well. If you have no friends or coworkers that have had resent repairs, you can try the local automotive paint supply stores in the area, they visit shops large and small every day and may be able to help you out.

Tips on Choosing the Right Smoothie Blender

A smoothie is a great way to get the nutrients your body requires from fruits and vegetables. Smoothies have become very popular with health conscious people and are available in a variety of flavors. What is a smoothie? A smoothie is a chilled blended beverage made from fruits and/or vegetables. It is sometimes sweetened and may contain chocolate. Many smoothies include crushed ice, honey or frozen fruits. They are consistent like milkshakes and are thicker than slush drinks. Usually smoothies do not contain ice-cream but there are some that contain milk and yogurt. Smoothies are now available in cafes, coffee shops and even in supermarkets but the best way to get a smoothie that is tailor made for you is to make it yourself. To do this you need a good smoothie blender. In this article we will find out how you can choose the right smoothie blender.

There are two main types of smoothie blenders. You can choose between a portable immersion unit and a full sized container blender. The portable immersion unit is designed for individual needs and is portable enough to carry to the office for on the spot use. To make more than one glass of smoothie at a time you will need a container blender. These electric blenders sit on your counter top. They are used to make large batches of smoothies. They have a lot of power and can even blend ice and frozen fruits.

When choosing your smoothie blender you should consider how often you will be using it. Different blenders run for different periods of time, if you are planning to use the blender for longer periods of time then you need to get a heavy duty blender that will be able to handle the load. Usually the run time of a blender depends on the RPM (Rotations per Minute) of the motor. A good rule of thumb is that the lower the RPM the longer the run time though this is not always the case.

Blenders run at a very high speed so it is important to get a blender that is sturdy. If you leave your blender unattended it should not ‘walk’ across the counter because of the vibrations from its motor. Your blender should also come with a lid that fits snugly. The lid should not pop off and cause a mishap if you are not there supervising. You should get a blender that has a tight lid and a heave base, such a blender will be much safer to use.

The blender should be cleaned properly after every use. The containers for the bender are available in glass as well as plastic. Plastic containers are harder and less like to break however they are also easier to scratch and absorb stains that make them much harder to clean. The glass containers are more likely to break but are much easier to clean. You should also make sure that the containers capacity suits your needs. The blender you choose, keeping these points in mind will give you a lot of satisfaction.

The Need Of Pest Control And The Importance Of Professional Pest Control Services

People wish they never have to deal with pests, but the sad fact is that these pesky little creatures have invaded an astounding number of personal and business properties all over the U.S. It is quite common to find termites, cockroaches, rodents, bugs, ticks, spiders, fleas and many other pests in homes. These insects are also rampant in the food, hospitality, agriculture, construction and other important industries.

Need for Pest Control
The main reason why pest control is indispensable is the threat to human, plant and animal health posed by the pests. Almost all pests are carriers of some disease or the other and have even been known to cause severe epidemics and massive agricultural destruction. Apart from destroying valuable food supply, causing death and serious health problems such as allergic reaction, the pests also lead to serious property damage. Pests like termites can eat away huge wooden structures and render them hollow and useless.

Almost everyone is revolted by these pests. In fact, the mere sight of a pest scurry around on a property is enough to turn you off and question the hygiene maintained at the place.

Professional Pest Control Services
Needless to say, pest control is something you cannot do without. However, it is a specialized service that you cannot manage on your own. The professional services of a pest control company have to be hired if you want to rid your residential or commercial property of pests.

Locating the pests and eradicating them involves the use of special products and equipment that these companies have. Their technicians are trained in the use of these solutions and equipment in a safe manner. With their extensive knowledge of the different types of pests, they are able to identify the places of pest infestation and decide up on the best extermination plan to use for solving the problem. Their services are focused not only on one-time pest removal, but on minimizing the chances of future infestations as well.

If you are interested in periodic pest treatment of your property as a preventive measure, the pest control companies can handle it too.

Pest invasions can cause you great discomfort, physical harm and financial loss. It makes sense to engage a knowledgeable, experienced and reliable professional to deal with the issue. If you are interested in knowing about the pest control companies servicing your area, you can log on to a local business directory and get all the required information.

Termites and Termite Control – How To Stop Problem Jobs From Becoming Nightmares

Termites have a very useful role within our environment, but when they invade and attack your home, they can become a hated enemy, a source of heartache and anxiety. Every problem has a solution, and there is no need for any job turning into a nightmare. There are however, certain practices in the pest control industry that should be adopted for all inspections and treatments, and some “dodgy” operators that should be avoided like the plague!

In Australia, one house in three at some stage will become affected by termites, which is more prevalent than damage caused by fire, storm and flood combined. This article will examine how to prevent termite attack, methods of inspection, protection, control and treatment.

Termite Control

Control of pest termites involves identifying the species, locating the nest and choosing the best eradication methods. A combination of doing regular, competent building inspections in termite-prone areas, using naturally resistant or treated timbers in buildings, and installing chemical and physical soil barriers around buildings is necessary to prevent further problems.

Houses nearby may often have termite nests nearby in trees, stumps and underground but these may not contain pest species. When they do, it should be the main focus of the termite control technician to locate and treat these areas before any protection is implemented. Too often the technician will “advise” the worried homeowner that termites may be “anywhere within 100 metres” of the property and its impossible to pinpoint exactly where they may be coming from.

In my opinion, if you don’t even try to find out the origin of the problem, your chances of gaining control of the problem dramatically drop. Even if the house is surrounded by dense bushland, I think it is definitely worth the time and expense of test drilling and treating ALL trees and stumps surrounding the property within a 50-100 metre radius, because that is where most infestations originate. If it means drilling 40-60 trees or investigating all surrounding homes, isn’t that a lot better than ignoring a possible source of infestation?

Most pest control companies will not go to this extra effort, and will try to convince the client that their baiting technique or soil barrier system is designed to protect your home in all circumstances. DON’T BELIEVE THEM! Better investigations and inspections lead to better termite protection and treatments. Its only common sense to take all effort to find out the origin of the attack.

Termite Inspection of Pest Species

Termite identification in Sydney Australia is highly specialized and pest controllers need to thoroughly inspect all areas of the property before any protection or treatment is begun. This may be conducted with the following equipment:

Flashlight with bright light

This is essential and krypton bulbs give the best light for torches generally available today. LED torches, headlamps and flashlights are the next generation inspection tools and should be used when they come onto the market.

A termite sounding donger

A fiberglass rod with a small plastic ball at the end. It is designed to run along skirting boards, higher placed timbers and other exposed timbers. When it runs across termite infested timber the tone changes, indicating hollowed out timber.

A Moisture Meter

It is designed to pick up high moisture content in walls and timbers. Termites bring up moisture from the soil and into the walls and timbers.

A Termatrac microwave tracking device Termatrac is a breakthrough development in the building inspection detection of termites, invented and developed in Australia using technology similar to radar, Termatrac is the exciting answer to detecting termites through timber, plaster board, brick or masonry with no interference to the building material or termite activity. With no drilling, tapping or prodding, Termatrac is the answer to termite detection without termite defection! With Termatrac, the pest professional enjoys the advantage of accurate detection and customer peace of mind.

Box cutter & Tape

If termite infested timber is located, we may cut it with a “Stanley” knife and expose the interior of timber, identifying the species of termites then seal it back up with tape so as not to disturb the termites.

Listening Device

This listens to termite sounds in the internal of the walls. However, if you tap the wall with your hand and put your ear up to the wall you can hear the soldier termites communicate by tapping their mandibles onto the timbers.

Home Inspection

A home inspection for termites is known in Sydney Australia as a building inspection and includes a pest report and a building report. It involves a thorough visual inspection of the sub floor, roof void interior, exterior, and other areas of the property. An average house takes anywhere from one to two hours to complete. Cost varies from $160-$360 depending on the size of the house and access. This is including G.S.T. Tax

The report consists of multiple pages setting out the areas of concern and what to do to rectify problems. Digital photos are available upon request. Please remember a termite inspection report is designed to detect termites at an early stage as to reduce the amount of damage to your house. It does not stop termites. It is strongly recommended a termite inspection report is carried out at least once every twelve months and every three to six months for high risk areas.

Note: There is no household insurance that covers you for termite damage.

Termite Report Essentially a termite building inspection report is designed to:
1. Detect old damage and active termites.
2. Gives you the element of risk of infestation.
3. Gives you tips on reducing the chances of termite infestation.
4. Gives us enough information to accurately quote you on a termite treatment and to use the most appropriate method.
5. Identifies species of termites and (most importantly)
6. Educates you about termites.

Economically Important Pest Termites

Out of the 258 described termite species in Australia, only a few timber-damaging species are of concern to us. The five families that include the most common pest species in Australia are:

1. Mastotermitidae (1 pest species – Giant Termite, Mastrotermes darwinensis)
2. Kalotermitidae (several pest species of ‘dry-wood termites’, including the introduced Cryptotermes brevis)
3. Termopsidae (1 pest species – Dampwood termite, Porotermes adamsoni)
4. Rhinotermitidae (7 pest species, including Coptotermes acinaciformes)
5. Termitidae (5 pest species, including Nasutitermes walkeri)

The Giant Termite (Mastotermes darwinensis) has the greatest potential for destruction. However, it is limited to the tropical areas of northern Australia. It attacks any wood in contact with the ground including shrubs and trees, as well as paper, leather, clothing and other materials. It is a large-bodied primitive species that usually forms small colonies and has no true worker caste.

West Indian Dry-wood Termite

The introduced West Indian Dry-wood Termite (Cryptotermes brevis) is considered to be the world’s worst termite pest as it can eat even very small timber objects with few external signs of damage, can quickly take over from native termite species, can survive in quite dry conditions, and is easily transported. If it is found, it should be reported to the relevant government authority. It has been found in Brisbane and Sydney, as well as other areas on several occasions.

Most Destructive Species

However the most destructive species overall in Australia is Coptotermes acinaciformes. It is distributed throughout the continent and uses tree stumps, living trees, spaces under buildings and even walls as nesting sites. From the nest site, any wooden structure within a 100-metre radius can be attacked via underground tunnels. Although they usually need contact with soil, some nests of this termite species have even been found several floors up in city buildings or on ferries.

A common species that nests in Sydney’s coastal bushland is Nasutitermes walkeri. It forms distinctive round ball-shaped nests that are especially abundant in the years following major bushfires (as it mainly nests in stressed trees). It can also damage fences, poles and wood on the ground, but it rarely attacks buildings. This species has the largest soldiers (up to 6 mm long) of the Nasutitermes genus, with the characteristic nasute head.

High Risk Suburbs

Termite control in Sydney, Australia is particularly important in these high risk suburbs:

Castle Hill
Winston Hills
Dural Baulkham Hills
Wahroonga Frenchs
Forest Manly Epping
Carlingford Leichhardt

We service all these areas as well as Australian capital cities Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart and Darwin.

Remember, if you follow all of the advice in this article, selecting a qualified Termite Expert who is aware of, and implements appropriate termite inspections, protection and treatments will help prevent a problem job from turning into a nightmare.

7 Questions to Ask a Bed Bugs Exterminator Before Hiring

So you have studied everything about bed bugs and have first hand everyday experience of what they look like and what their bites are like. Now you are one step away from getting qualified help but how do you select the right bed bug exterminator?

The internet has made this quest easier. Very often you do not need to even leave your chair to get dozens of companies and telephone numbers. However, if you want to get rid of the bed bugs, there is some important information that you will need to know before and not after workers start treating your infested house.

I will provide you a list of questions that you should ask companies that provide pest management services. A confident and certified exterminator company will be glad to answer all your questions, address your concerns and develop a strategy specifically for your case. Here are the questions:

1. Do they have references of the people whose premises they have cleaned of namely bed bug infestation? It is probably the most important question as it will give you information from the third party about practical skills and experience of the company.

2. Do they have a full license? License is, in a way, another third party reference but from a qualified and accredited source. If the company has no license you should be ware of them and whatever their other answers are, I would recommend finding somebody with a license.

3. Do they have all needed insurance: like public liability and professional indemnity? Obviously, you want to find someone who has both of them.

4. What is their experience in the business? If they have been working in extermination for several months, let them learn and gain experience in somebody else and not your house. You need a company with at least years of experience and good track record.

5. What is their standard procedure? You have probably studied enough by now to know that there should be an integrated approach and strategy to extermination and not just random spraying of questionable identified insecticides.

6. Do they include you in their plan? They should do it. There is some due preparation for treatment that can be done only by you. Any professional exterminator should give proper recognition to the important stage of pre-treatment. You will have to wash up clothes and clean the places that have been contaminated by the insect infestation. If the prospective provider neglects your participation and all these important measures, contact a better one.

7. What do they guarantee? Some guarantee is due but no one can guarantee a 100% effectiveness of the methods they use because bed bug infestation is difficult to handle even by experienced and fully equipped exterminators.

Answers to these questions will help you get a better understanding of how the candidate operates and see whether they will indeed be able to handle your case. After all you want somebody who will deliver the best services. These people will go inside you house and you need to be sure of who you choose.

Cheap Hot Tubs But High Quality Hot Tubs

The internet is now an ideal place to find companies that are able to offer you competently priced hot tubs due to their overheads being a lot less as many of them do not have showrooms.

The internet can be a perfect place to purchase a cheap hot tub instead of from a hot tub dealer’s showroom, but be careful with internet hot tub retailers as they might not be genuine, they could be selling poor quality hot tubs or not be around in the future to support you with warranty problems or spare parts like filters. The best way to find a genuine and reliable hot tub dealer is to see if they are part of BISHTA (British and Irish Spa and Hot Tub Association), this is a hot tub association that makes sure all hot tub dealers are keeping to the correct laws and make sure they are providing customers with safe information as well as good service to their customers.

With regards to hot tubs, there are many companies out there trying to get you to buy their tubs with prices ranging for £1,000 up to £15,000 and the price you pay does affect the quality of the product slightly, as the more expensive ones will be a lot larger tub as well as having additional accessories like, TV, and sound systems built in.
Many people would love a sound system in the hot tub as well TV but many can not afforded these luxuries and therefore looking for a cheap hot tubs. Cheap hot tub does not mean they are poor quality they will just not have all the luxury extra item with them.

A big expensive of a hot tub is the time and cost of manufacturing the actual hot tub shell, many of these are make from acrylic and fibre glass, but there are now a new and much cheaper way of manufacturing a hot tub shell by using rotational moulding, this is a much quicker process and therefore being down the manufacturing costs of hot tubs, therefore manufactures can sell cheap hot tubs. . Even thought these hot tub are cheap they still using the same quality parts as the expensive manufactures put in there hot tubs.

When comparing hot tubs it is recommended to ask the hot tub dealer what the name of the parts manufacture as there are only a few manufacture of good quality hot tubs parts. If they are able to tell you what parts are in the hot tub they should be good quality and a reliable hot tub parts manufacture. If there is dealer does not know the name of what parts are used in their hot tub or it’s a name you have not heard of it best to keep clear of their particular tubs.
So if you see a hot tub with the same parts in the tub but with a difference price tag it just means that the dealer is making more money usually.

Some hot tub can seem like they are very cheap to purchase but its always recommend to find out what the running costs are as its better to get a well insulated hot tub with more efficient parts which will save you money in the long run. It is also worth inquiring on what type of insulation they have as some cheap hot tub will have none, and therefore cost more to run but some other cheap hot tubs are well insulated and will be cheaper to run.

A perfect opportunity to pick up a hot tub bargain is during the sales. Many hot tub dealers will have a Hot tub sale at the end of the year and also a Hot tub sale beginning of the year; this is to clear old models before the new stock arrives,

Winter is the perfect time to purchase a hot tub as most people prefer using the hot tub when the weather is cold outside and the hot tub is all warm and bubbling so why not pick up a hot tub sale in winter and then hope for snow so you can relax in the hot tub with snow all around you.

Professional Carpet Cleaning VS DIY

Common misconception about professional carpet cleaning service is it is costly, inconvenient, and one can clean a carpet oneself using self purchased steam cleaning machines or use stain removal products available in DIY shop.

To correct the misconception, we need to understand the difference between the two cleaning processes to draw a fairer conclusion.

DIY Carpet Cleaning

Typical DIY cleaning involves regular carpet vacuuming, removing stains on carpet using DIY stain removal products found in hardware store, and some may even purchase or lease equipment to clean it.

Regular vacuuming is a necessary carpet maintenance practice which should be done daily to minimize the amount of accumulated dust, dirt particles and micro organism in it. This regular exercise is recommended not only to maintain the condition of carpet, regular dust removal also help to improve indoor air quality and minimize exposure to indoor airborne allergens.

While occurrence of a carpet stain is inevitable to prevent, one should be extra cautious when applying chemical based stain removal products from hardware stores. Due to the chemical content in carpet stain removal solutions sold in the market you need to be very careful when selecting the carpet stain removal solution and to follow given instructions diligently as one wrong application step may cause permanent damage that cannot be reversed, even by any professional cleaning service companies. By then, you may end up spending more money to get it repaired or replaced.

Purchasing or leasing cleaning equipment maybe an alternative solution. But before making the purchase, it is highly recommended to check with your carpet installer which carpet cleaning method is suitable for your carpet material. Some carpet material should not get wet at all while some carpet may discolour if not cleaned appropriately.

Professional Carpet Cleaning

Reputable professional carpet cleaning companies would invest money to research and bring in effective cleaning system and products to produce excellent and safe cleaning result. Furthermore, carpet cleaning operators are often trained professionally and have many years of experience in handling different types of carpet and challenging conditions.

Carpet cleaning cost is normally pegged to the total cleanable carpet area and the existing carpet condition. So the dirtier it is, the longer it will take to clean the carpet. This means longer man hour and more cleaning products needed to clean the carpet which will incur higher cost. Dirtier carpet also has less chance to get all the stains and dirt removed as some of the stains may have penetrated into the carpet fibre which makes them impossible to be removed.

Conclusion

Contrary to common misconception, professional cleaning may not always be costly and cause inconvenience. In fact, if you engage professional cleaning regularly, the cost to clean and maintenance assurance you get from them will be more worth it than getting it cleaned on your own.

While DIY carpet cleaning may seem cheaper or more convenient as you can choose to clean carpet as and when required, your employed cleaner or yourself does not have the necessary cleaning skill and experience to handle the cleaning.
